Before it was the Brandon Inn, the property was known as Brandon House, c. 1886-1890

Past

Sarah and Louis were so excited to find this historic property when beginning their adventure in 1987. They immediately saw the potential of The Brandon Inn during their first visit to town. Although they visited many establishments, The Brandon Inn emerged as the perfect fit for their business and family. The Brandon Inn is in the heart of a quintessential Vermont town, with a lively village green on one side and the banks of the Neshobe River on the other. With the rich history of the Inn, curb appeal, and incredible facilities, The Brandon Inn was “the one!”

Brandon’s downtown hospitality tradition began with The Neshobe Tavern, which opened in 1786 to serve the young town. After a fire in the early 1880s destroyed a later iteration known as Brandon House, the present building began welcoming visitors to the growing community in 1892. Over the years, they collected Inn-related memorabilia to highlight this rich history, which is now on display in the lobby. The Inn has always held a prominent position in Brandon’s history, which can be explored in depth at the Brandon Museum.
